Restaurant StewardPosition Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Restaurant Steward.
As a Restaurant Steward, you will play a vital role in ensuring the cleanliness and smooth operation of our restaurant.
Your primary responsibility will be to maintain cleanliness in the dining area and support the service staff in delivering exceptional customer service.
This position requires excellent organizational skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
1.
Cleanliness and Maintenance:
- Ensure cleanliness and tidiness of dining areas, including tables, chairs, floors, and service stations.
- Maintain the cleanliness of restrooms and replenish supplies as needed.
- Regularly clean and polish glassware, silverware, and serving equipment.
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of dining areas before and after service.
2.
Support to Service Staff:
- Collaborate with the waitstaff and assist in providing efficient table service.
- Assist in clearing tables, resetting them for the next guests, and refilling water glasses.
- Ensure tables are properly set with clean linens, napkins, and condiments.
- Respond promptly to guest requests and communicate any specific needs to the appropriate staff members.
3.
Waste Management:
- Monitor and manage waste disposal in accordance with local health and safety regulations.
- Sort and dispose of recyclable materials appropriately.
- Keep the trash and recycling areas clean and organized.
4.
Stock Management:
- Assist in receiving, storing, and organizing restaurant supplies and equipment.
- Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and notify the management when reordering is required.
- Assist with inventory counts and report any discrepancies to the management.
5.
Safety and Hygiene:
- Follow all sanitation and hygiene standards to ensure the safety of guests and staff.
- Adhere to food handling and storage guidelines to maintain quality and freshness.
- Maintain a clean and organized storage area for cleaning supplies and equipment.
Requirements:
- Hourly Rate
Tip- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Previous experience as a steward, busser, or similar role in the hospitality industry is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work well in a team and collaborate effectively with other staff members.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift heavy items throughout the shift.
- Strong communication skills to interact with guests and communicate effectively with the team.
